The historical evidence for a mythological race of giants has been proven false by modern archaeology.

The widespread myth of a race of giants is a popular topic in ancient folklore and modern conspiracy theories, but it lacks any credible scientific or archaeological support. The idea of giants, often called Nephilim in some texts, has captivated the human imagination for centuries, but all supposed “discoveries” have been proven to be hoaxes.

The claims of giant skeletons are typically debunked in one of two ways. They are either elaborate forgeries, often created using a combination of normal human and animal bones to simulate a large skeleton, or they are the result of misidentifying the remains of large prehistoric animals like mammoths, dinosaurs, or other megafauna.

The modern scientific understanding of human evolution, biology, and skeletal structure makes the existence of such a race impossible. While some individuals have a condition known as gigantism, which can cause a person to grow to be over 8 feet tall, they are individuals and not a separate, mythological race. The largest human skeleton ever recorded belonged to an individual named Robert Wadlow, who stood at 8 feet 11 inches tall, a medical anomaly rather than a species. These medical cases are a real, verifiable phenomenon that stands in stark contrast to the fictional claims of an ancient race of giants.
